Diablo Foothills is an imposing gateway to the beautiful parklands of Castle Rock
park or Mount Diablo with 978 acres that contain interesting geologic features,

This 17-acre park is funded by the Town of Danville and Contra Costa County, R-7A,
who jointly own and operate the park. The park has walking trails, picnic areas,
children's play area and a dog park. The "ranch theme" playground allows children
of all ages to interact with a variety of play equipment. The dog park is located
next to the play area and picnic areas which provides a space for dogs, large and
small, to exercise and socialize with other canines.
Iron Horse Regional Trail
This trail is a multi-use, whole-access trail between the cities of
Concord and Livermore, spanning a total of 33 miles, connecting two
counties and 12 cities. It creates an important recreational and
commute component for the communities it serves invovling all types
of transportation: running, walking, strolling, biking, blading and
dog walking. Park hours are from 5 a.m.-10 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

Las Trampas Regional Wilderness

Las Trampas Regional Wilderness offers 3,798 arces of
wilderness and an expanded trail system that allows hikers
and horseback riders enjoy its remote and rugged areas.
The park is bisected by Bollinger Creek and has two major
Bay Area faults, the Las Trampas and Bollinger faults.
The site is a good place for birdwatching and has an
abundant wildlife living within it. Guided trail rides
are available in 1.5 to 2.5 increments from May-September
that are good for all experience levels 9 years and older.

Little Hills Picnic Ranch
Little Hills Picnic Ranch is a picnic park
that is available for groups by reservation only.
The park offers seven group picnic sites or
reservation of the entire park and a swimming
pool, covered picnic areas, playfields and
barbecue areas. Activities include facepainting,
dancing, swimming, hayridges, trout pond fishing,
volleyball and softball. Food catering is offered,
contact the Picnic People by calling 462-1400 or

Livorna Park features a large open-air gazebo,
a sand volleyball court, a sports court and a
children's play area. There is a drinking fountain,
restrooms and off-street parking.

Memorial Park and offers a shade structure,
benches, water and a surface of decomposed granite,
a sandy material that dogs seem to love.

With a 3,849-foot summit, this park has widespread views
of the Bay Area that are accessible by hiking, mountain
biking or horseback riding. Located off Diablo Road, off
I-680 in Danville, the park also offers camping, rock
climbing, observation deck, wildlife viewing, picnic areas
and restrooms. The Summit Visitor Center and art gallery
are open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday-Sunday with possible
expanded days. The Mitchell Canyon Interpretive Center at
the north end of the park in Clayton is open weekends and
some holidays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in summer, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in

car. Mount Diablo Interpretive Association runs the Mitchell

Oak Hill Park is a 43-acre park that offers a quiet
country setting with a spectacular view of Mt. Diablo
as the backdrop. It features a small lake that supports
a variety of wild birds. This park is a popular location
of family picnics, weddings and other special locations
like Music in the Park summer concert series. Group picnic
areas with seven tables and three barbecue pits and lighted
tennis courts are available for rental, call the Town of Danville at 314-3400.

Osage Station Park is known for its beautiful memorial
rose garden and children's play area with train station
and water attraction. This 35-acre park features four
tennis courts, four baseball diamonds, several soccer fields,
