Members of the San Ramon Fire Protection District's Pipe and Drum Band take the flag to half staff in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.

The Remembrance Ceremony held at Oak Hill Park in Danville featured the bagpipers, as well as a bugler from the fire department's band.

Dignitaries attending the event included Danville Mayor Newell Arnerich, San Ramon Mayor H. Abram Wilson, Council members Mike Doyle, Karen Stepper and Candace Andersen, District 3 Supervisor Mary N. Piepho and U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney.
