Danville cross country teams won North Coast Section titles in the Division 1 races at Hayward High last Saturday, and tomorrow, Nov. 28, they compete in the CIF State Meet.

"The favored San Ramon boys turned back strong efforts from Castro Valley and De La Salle to win their race in the fifth fastest team time in meet history," said Monte Vista Coach Mike Davis. "They packed four runners in the top 10, and had all five scoring runners within 25 seconds of each other."

The Monte Vista girls came into the meet ranked third behind Castro Valley and San Ramon Valley.

"But they turned in a spirited performance to win the NCS title by 26 points over CV," Davis reported. "The Mustangs had five runners in the top 25, with a strong 42-second 1-5 runner time gap."

The CIF State Meet on Saturday will take place at Woodward Park in Fresno.
