Streetwise: What's a good story about your dog?
Around Town, posted by Editor, Danville Weekly Online, on Jul 30, 2010 at 2:48 pm

Streetwise reporter Stan Wharton knows that if you want a good story, you head to the Canine Corral dog park at Hap Magee Ranch Park. He did just that and got some great answers to: ==B What's a good story about your dog? == To see the answers, click on the photos. If you have any good "dog tales," share them in the comments below.

My name is Cindi Tringali, I am a Professional Dog Trainer from Alamo. About 4 weeks ago I got a call from Cris Tarozzi from THE WHITE KITTY FOUNDATION[whitekittyfoundation.org]. Cris said that there were two 10-week-old Australian Shepard puppies at the Marin Humane Society that needed help. I contacted the Dog Trainer from Marin Humane Society and this is what she told me about the puppies; The breeder of the puppies had them dropped off at the shelter, they were assessed by the staff and it was discovered that both the pups were deaf. I was told that Marin Human Society does not adopt out deaf dogs. The breeder was contacted and told that she needed to come pick up the puppies. She responded by saying that she was leaving for vacation and she would not be coming get them. Since there were new intakes coming into the shelter, the puppies needed to find a foster home by the next day or they would be euthanized.[Killed, due to lack of space!] I knew that I could help these pups so,I picked them up the very next day and started training them right away. They learned fast and are continuing to do so. The female puppy was quickly adopted by a fantastic family from Livermore. She is doing well and I meet with them two times each week to provide free training. The male is a sweet pup that has yet to find the right family for him. He is smart, in training and learning quickly, he already knows to sit and stay to get his food and water. He knows how to "Come" and "Look" as well as "Sit" and is mastering how to walk on a loose leash. He is learning how to "Go Potty" on command as well. If you know anyone who needs a great puppy or, if you yourself is interested in learning more about him please contact me, Cindi @ Tel. (925)202-7010.

Dear Dolores,

As a former registered member of the Forum, I would like to go on record to claim that the best dog story is about a cat.

Let me explain.

We have a pal named Orson in our neighborhood that is a very old and dear DOG friend. He lives with cats that simply watch him in his daily efforts to reach the Iron Horse Trail.

It is an exceptional culture that dogs and cats enjoy. Likely we can only appreciate and never fully understand.

We should learn from the relationship,

Ralph without ROFL
