Five Boy Scouts from Troop 803 were instrumental in a successful food drive for the Food Bank of Contra Costa/Solano Counties on November 16 at "The Peasant & the Pear" restaurant in Danville. The Scouts were Ben Wischhover, Josh Gorski, Michael Nash Carl Bergsten and Tyler Brecke.

Patrons of the restaurant donated 1,090 pounds of food at the annual customer appreciation party, and they donated $2,250 on cash and checks. Boy Scouts helped collect the food and pack a Food Bank van.

Also helping the Boy Scouts was National All-American Teen finalist, Allie Curtis, a senior at Monte Vista High School.

Executive Chef Rodney Worth, who also owns "The Peasant's Courtyard" in Alamo, sends his thanks to all those in the San Ramon Valley who donated for such a great cause. You can still donate at: www.FoodBankCCS.org.
